Carmanah Ancient Rainforest Ecotour

Discover the most remarkable and spectacular Ancient Temperate Rainforest on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.

We travel through Port Alberni, gateway to the Island’s wild, West Coast. Then on gravel logging roads with incredible views of Nitinat Lake, surfing capital of Canada and on to the Carmanah Valley to the largest trees in Canada and to the heaviest bio-mass (tons per acre of trees) in the world.

We’ll visit giant Sitka Spruce and Western Red Cedar’s, lots of birds and animals live in this Forest and the variety of plants, berries and wilflowers is amazing. The 3 hour walk is not difficult but there are some hills and some stairs.

It’s an awe-inspiring trip.
